This time, Wisconsin ready – the New York Times (blog)

LOS ANGELES-Delayed by a commercial car film on Figueroa Street, Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema is about 10 minutes late for a scheduled news conference, the Rose Bowl Saturday morning. On his arrival, smiles and one of his wisecracks standards spell Badgers have pushed ever since they arrived in Southern California earlier this week.

This time, with a planned trip around Hollywood in anticipation of the oldest college football bowl game, the Badgers have no intention of getting caught up in luxury. They focused on Monday’s game against Oregon.

“You don’t run into every day at Madison,” Bielema said organized commercial traffic. “Reminder of how great to be here again.”

Back in the Rose Bowl for the second consecutive year, the Badgers have adopted the view of the business since the time they earned their berth to Pasadena with a win in the Inaugural Big Ten championship on Dec. 3.
